of CISI project, the following
academic courses have been developed:
Education of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) Learners – The aim of the
course is to provide students with in-depth and systematic knowledge about
the developmental and learning characteristics of deaf and hard of hearing
students and modern theoretical approaches and evidence-based practice models
of education deaf and hard of hearing learners; to equip students with
practical skills necessary for the assessment of educational needs and for
effective educational support of deaf and hard of hearing learners. An
important aim of the course is to develop right attitudes and expectations in
students towards deaf and hard of hearing learners. |

Introduction to
Braille, assistive devices for visually impaired persons - The aim of the course
is to teach the use of Braille literacy teaching strategies, methods and
necessary assistive devices. Also, getting acquainted with various aids and
applications that help in the process of education and rehabilitation of blind
and partially sighted people.

Teaching methodology
and developmental features for the visually impaired - The
main aim of the course is to provide the student with the knowledge necessary
for professional activities about the basic aspects of teaching people with
visual impairments, theoretical foundations, modern educational approaches and
practical work strategies; Develop skills to apply the acquired knowledge in
practice.

Methodology of Teaching Children with Learning Disabilities – The main aim of the course is to study the etiology, types, characteristics,
ways of prevention of learning disabilities, the main features and principles
of education of students with learning disabilities; Develop the student's
ability to use a variety of teaching and classroom management strategies to
adapt to students with learning disabilities.

Teaching students with
emotional and behavioral disorders
- The main aim of the course is to
provide students with the knowledge on Manifestation, characteristics and
causal factors of emotional and behavioral disorders in children/
schoolchildren; Screening and evaluating methods of children with emotional and
behavioral disorders. Different teaching and classroom management strategies
for adaptation of the students with EBD at the school. Strategies to support
the development of academic skills of students with emotional and behavioral
disorders. Procedures for developing and implementing supportive Individualized
Education Plans (IEP) for students with EBD.

Foundation for Special and Inclusive Education
- The
main aim of the course is to provide students with a basic knowledge in
inclusive education - its mai
principles, approaches and practices. The course also aims to increase
students ’ sensitivity towards persons with “different ” capacity and needs
encourage
development of those values that encouraging social inclusion of persons with
special needs and appreciate inclusive education vs segregated education.
